Jon Green is a 25-year veteran of the software and embedded systems markets. He's worked, at one time or another, with most of the major Cambridge companies, and many of the smaller ones too.
Jon is both a businessman - currently a Director of no less than five companies - and a consummate technologist.
On the one hand, he's piloted one company through a Management Buy-Out and subsequent funding round, and has worked with Chinese companies (he even speaks a little Mandarin!) to take products from design prototype through to market-ready production.
On the other, he's programmed in more computer languages than he's fingers and toes to count them on. Although he specialises in embedded systems, consumer electronics, firmware and device drivers, he's developed at all levels in the software hierarchy, and also for the Web in (amongst others) PHP, MySQL and PostgreSQL. He's even assisted in hardware and FPGA design, and often advised on design choices for consumer electronics devices.
He is nothing if not flexible. His business consultancy roles include interim CEO (startup and small businesses) and CTO (all sizes), and he's prepared to consider portfolio work - in other words, sharing his skills amongst more than one client at a time, which can help save precious funds! He can also provide pure technical consultancy, at any level from developer to Board-reporting team leadership.
When he's not working for clients, or on his own companies, Jon is father to two great children, an occasional long-board surfer, a writer and blogger, and longs to get back in the cockpit to resume his flying training (fixed-wing, rotor and glider at various times). On Wednesday evenings, at the Waggon and Horses in Milton, he tries to help his team not to win the Quiz, and generally succeeds.
