What data do we collect?
There are two kinds of data we collect: anonymous and personally-identifying.
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages from our website that you visit. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.” It is anonymous, unless and until you provide personally-identifying information.
Personally-identifying information is data that can be used to identify and/or contact you. We only gather this when you explicitly provide it to us.
How do we collect your data?
“Cookies” are data files placed on your device or computer. They often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
“Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site. These are downloaded as you browse. They allow us to see how you progress through the site, to help us make a better site for you.
We do not presently offer purchases through this site, so do not collect information related to purchasing.
If you enter a comment on a page on this site, or if you use a web form to communicate with us, we collect the personally-identifying information you provide. This may include your email address, a web URL, a phone number, the name you give and of course your comment.
How do we use the your data?
If you provide information in a web form (including page comments), we may use this to communicate with you. This might be to respond to a query or to send marketing information. We may use any of the means you have provided. By providing this information, you consent to this use, but you can always unsubscribe using links in our emails. We do not send marketing information by SMS text message.
We do not sell or pass your information to third parties, except for these purposes, or to comply with legal due process.
Information gathered from web beacons, cookies and so on may be used for tuning our site’s efficiency, to understand how you use our site and to recognise you when you revisit the site.
Sharing your personal information
Our site contains tracking pixels from Google. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how people use our site. We do not link these with personally-identifying information we hold, although Google may infer your identity from other sites you have visited. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations or legal due process or otherwise to protect our rights.
We do not use social media cookies, other than from Google Analytics.
“Do Not Track”
As with almost all other sites, our site’s behaviour is not changed when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser. Unfortunately, Do Not Track is so meaningless now that it is not worth the maintenance effort keeping it working.
If you are a European or UK resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European or UK resident, we may process your information to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States. Where it is so transmitted, we impose upon the third parties handling those data the same conditions under which we handle them.
When you enter your personally identifying information, we will retain it for our records and marketing purposes unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
For more information about our privacy practices, if you have questions or comments, please contact us through this site.
